The Faith of "EVEN IF NOT"

Walking 70 Years with the Persecuted Church
The chapters of Acts are now history, but does the faith once witnessed by the disciples through their lives and freedom—the faithfulness and preservation of God—still echo today?

In this present age, we seem to be amidst raging storms, with the waves of life threatening to swallow us at any moment. Yet, for Christians persecuted for their faith in Africa, the Middle East, North Korea, and beyond, challenges and threats are a daily reality. The growth of the Church and their scars stand as testimonies, teaching us to hold fast to our faith and press forward courageously in this turbulent era.

In celebration of Open Doors' 70-year journey of grace, a series of special meetings will be held from September 19 to 30, 2025. We are honoured to welcome Rev. Paul Estabrooks, who has served the persecuted Church for 38 years, and Brother Gideon (pseudonym) from Africa to Hong Kong and Taiwan, where they will share the victorious secrets of the persecuted church.

The Speakers

Rev. Paul Estabrooks

Paul is a story-teller and loves to share the joys and triumphs as well as the challenges of members of the part of the body we call the Persecuted Church. He has written publications, including “Standing Strong Through the Storm”, a training manual that has been translated into 48 languages.

Brother Gideon

Born and bred in Eritrea – no. 6 on the 2025 World Watch List, Brother Gideon was imprisoned eight times for his faith before he fled the country. He is currently producing a dramatized audio Bible in his mother tongue, aiming to spread God's word and provide hope to fellow Eritrean Christians.
